An experienced 10gen / MongoDB expert will work with your IT Team to assess the overall status of your MongoDB deployment. Specific points of interest are:
- Documenting / evaluating the overall deployment (Replica Sets, Sharding configuration)
- Audit of the data model, including proper use of indexes
- Assessment of Data Reliability and Risks
- Ensure your data is safe
- Screening of existing logs
- Check for exceptions and performance anomalies
- Evaluation of Backup and Restore procedures in place
- Evaluation of Data Availability and Failover procedures
- Disaster recovery procedures
We start with an initial meeting, review your deployment offline and schedule follow-up meetings. At the end of the consult we provide you with a report on the state of your deployment and recommendations for improvements. We usually provide the report within a week after the initial meeting.
Health checks are best done at the end of development cycle, and before production launch. A knowledge resource is generally required to be the liaison for any operations which need to be run against your system/database; in rare cases direct/remote access to your servers may be requested.
